Vulcan Lions Club

A group of Vulcan well minded gentlemen embraced the International Association of Lions Club’s mission and in 1944 the Lions Club of Vulcan was created with 24 members and was chartered on November 11, the same year.

Our Club is also registered with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a charitable organization, meaning we can issue official donation receipts for income tax purposes.

2021

Over the years our Club contributed in many ways to the well-being of the Vulcan community. Among others, Lions built two (2) community swimming pools. The first one was built in 1946 at a cost of $25,000, with, of course, many volunteer hours from Lion’s members and other members of the community.

The second pool was built in 1977 at a cost of $275,000 and again with lots of support from volunteers. We were extremely thankful for the major contributions the Vulcan Community, as a whole, provided to both of these pool projects.

The Lion’s Club was once again deeply involved in the third community swimming pool project. Since June 2016, we have received major support from Vulcan (Town & County) residents, businesses, corporations, foundations, local service clubs and other not-for-profit organizations, not only in fundraising but also by creating a big buzz for this great community project which is now a reality. The new swimming pool was ready for the 2021 Season.

Many, many thanks to all of you who have contributed, in one way or another, to the success of these Community Projects!
